💩 What is Patchwork Truth?

Patchwork Truth is a multiplayer negotiation game where you compete to build a shared truth from conflicting story fragments. Goal: weave the most coherent and fair narrative using GenLayer Intelligent Contract scoring.

This game is not about who knows the most — it is about who can build the most coherent narrative from conflicting evidence.

🎯 How It Works

1

Host Creates the Room

Host creates a room, picks a scenario, and shares the room code with other players.

2

Each Player Gets Different Fragments

16 fragments shuffled — each player gets 3 random fragments. No player has the full picture — negotiation is REQUIRED.

3

Discuss and Craft the Final Narrative

Negotiation phase: everyone submits contributions. Host weaves the best final narrative.

4

AI Evaluator Grades the Narrative

GenLayer Intelligent Contract evaluates 4 dimensions: coherence, evidence integration, argument quality, manipulation resistance.

5

Challenge Phase (Optional)

Disagree with the AI evaluation? Submit an appeal via Optimistic Democracy — community voting.

Host creates a room, picks a scenario, and invites players. Speed mode enabled = countdown timer starts.
Each player receives 3 random fragments from the 16-fragment scenario pool. Read and understand before the next phase.
Discuss in the chat room. Players submit contributions: claim + evidence + narrative impact. All contributions are scored.
Host crafts the best single final narrative from all contributions. Can edit freely but must include the strongest evidence.
GenLayer Intelligent Contract evaluates the final narrative. Score 0-25 per dimension, total 0-100.
Players can appeal. Small XP stake. Community votes. Correct challenge = bonus, failed = penalty.

📝 How to Write a Contribution

Good contribution = specific claim + concrete evidence + narrative impact. Not an opinion without basis.

Contribution Formula

Format
[MAIN CLAIM] because [EVIDENCE] — [NARRATIVE IMPACT]
Example: Mystery Scenario
"The 19:07 sensor log is the most verifiable timeline anchor because digital data is more reliable than eyewitness testimony."
Example: Corporate Scenario
"Singapore entity registered 14 Feb — 2 weeks BEFORE the board meeting — indicating advance planning, not opportunity."

What to Avoid

❌ Opinion without evidence: "In my opinion this incident is clearly not an accident"
❌ Absolutism: "This MUST be sabotage because X"
❌ Ignoring conflicting evidence: "ignore the anonymous report"
❌ Chat volume without substance: spamming without specific claims

📋 Final Narrative Tips

Template
"Based on evidence X and Y, the most coherent narrative is [THEIRS]. However there is uncertainty in [AREA] that needs to be acknowledged."

📈 Scoring System

Coherence
How logically consistent the final narrative is
Evidence
How much valid evidence was successfully integrated
Argument
Quality of reasoning in the narrative
Manip. Resist
Resistance to biased manipulation

🏅 Player Score Breakdown

+

Accepted Contributions

+10 pts per contribution that made it into the final narrative

+

Accurate Challenges

+15 pts per correct challenge (AI/majority agree)

Failed Challenges

—5 pts per failed challenge — prevents challenge spam

Challenge is not about weakening others — it is about improving the shared consensus.

🚀 Tips and Strategy

1

Listen to Everyone

Your fragments are only 3 of 16. Other players have the evidence you need to form a complete narrative.

2

Focus on Being the Integrator

High scorers are not the loudest talkers — they are the best evidence integrators.

3

Use Evidence Language

Key words: "based on", "supported by", "consistent with", "unlike". Avoid: "in my opinion", "it seems".

4

Acknowledging Uncertainty = Strength Signal

Narratives that acknowledge evidence limitations are valued higher by the AI than baseless absolute claims.

5

Strategic Challenging

Challenge is not for attacking — it is for highlighting what matters. Correct challenge = big bonus.

Replayability: try different scenarios. Each scenario needs a different approach since the evidence types differ.
